Fraudulent Payroll Checks
Midwest Community Federal Credit Union has had four new accounts opened with fraudulent checks. The perpetrators all opened accounts with new Ohio Nondriver IDs and fraudulent payroll checks from known local businesses. The addresses on the IDs matched the addresses on the payroll checks. The checks were drawn off of Chase and Bank of America and were payable for amounts ranging from $ 1,698.72 to $2,141.52. Newly issued Ohio Nondriver IDs were used by all four individuals. These individuals used fake payroll checks with stubs for verification of address at the BMV.
